Columbus, Nebraska is a place that embraces progress and job creation. For more than 70 years, our region has been aggressively and successfully growing jobs through recruitment and retention. In 2009, Platte County was recognized as the “3rd Best Place to Find a Job” by CNN/Money Magazine.
Economic development activities for the Columbus region are carried out by the Columbus Economic Council, a committee of the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce.
Day-to-day economic development work is done through the Economic Development department of Loup Public Power District, whose CEO and Economic Development Manager serve as co-chairs of the Columbus Economic Council.
The Columbus Economic Council focuses primarily on industrial development with an emphasis on manufacturing, technology, data centers and food processing. Our industrial park has several available sites and we typically have one or more vacant buildings ready for immediate occupancy. If you are interested in obtaining more information on Columbus regarding industrial sites and buildings please contact Dave Bell, Columbus Economic Council Co-Chair at 888-564-3171, ext. 257 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
