News : Kids Invited to "Go Play"
"Go Play" will be a 4-day event in May aiming to get kids active. The event starts with free introductory sports clinics for kids on Sunday, May 20th. The free clinics are sponsored by CCC-Columbus and Mike’s Auto Sales & Towing.
Paid clinics in volleyball and football will also be offered as part of “Go Play.” Monday through Wednesday that same week, former Husker great and Columbus High alum Amanda (Gates) Sjuts will lead a volleyball clinic for 3rd graders through high school athletes, presented by Pinnacle Bank. A paid football clinic will be held Monday and Tuesday, May 21-22, presented by Gene Steffy Ford.
That Tuesday, May 22nd, will include a golf tournament and auction that will raise funds to support the goals of the event. All proceeds from "Go Play" will be given to schools' athletic departments and local youth sports organizations.
Presenting corporate sponsors are Hy-Vee, Columbus Community Hospital, Columbus Area Chamber, Progressive Swine Technologies, & BD Medical/Pharmaceutical.
