Some 500 people turned out to welcome the first stop on the Nebraska 150 Whistle Stop Tour in Columbus.  Governor Pete Ricketts, First Lady Susanne Shore, Union Pacific CEO Lance Fritz, Nebraska astronaut Clayton Anderson, and Husker legend Tom Osborne rode the train from Omaha to Columbus.

Historical displays and kids' activities were provided by the Platte County Historical Society and Columbus Public Library.  First National Bank sponsored a "Something Good Columbus" Summer Series event in conjunction with the whistle stop.
